At Madeira Optical we grateful to practice in such a great community and be connected with the people we serve. Although we cannot accept every request, over the years we have been fortunate to be able to sponsor, volunteer, and donate to many local communities and school events and groups.
We are really proud to have served on the Madeira Athletic Boosters and created the popular Kids Club along with a few friends. We also really enjoy the outdoors and have had the opportunity to support local watershed and park projects. Because the community supports us, we are blessed to be able to support it back. Thank you!
We are passionate about education and eye health. We focus our volunteering efforts on providing free eye care and eye health to local children through three main programs:
The Ohio Optometric Association RealEyes Program – We visit local area schools in Cincinnati, Loveland, Madeira, Milford, and other areas and give fun age-appropriate presentations and little eyeballs to the kids. Please contact our office to request a presentation.
Infant See – InfantSEE®, a public health program, managed by Optometry Cares® -The AOA Foundation, is designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an essential part of infant wellness care to improve a child's quality of life. Under this program, participating doctors of optometry provide a comprehensive infant eye assessment between 6 and 12 months of age free of charge regardless of family income or access to insurance coverage. Medical Missions – Dr. Pence has participated in several local medical missions in underserved communities. She has also traveled to underserved communities in Mexico, Ecuador, and St. John to provide vision-saving eye care to adults and children in need and to help respond to natural disasters like hurricanes.
