About Us
Madeira Optical is located in downtown Madeira just seconds from the Kenwood Mall. Our optometrists enjoy practicing in a local Cincinnati multi-generational family eye care environment. We schedule our appointments to make sure you get in quickly and receive a comprehensive eye exam in our state-of-the-art practice without being rushed. Visional accuity is more than just a diagnostic result, it also involves perception and personal preference. We want you to be comfortable with your visual acuity and have all of your eye care questions answered.
Our office is equipped with the latest technology, including digital retinal imaging and auto-refractors. Our professional and friendly opticians work hard to make sure your eye exam is enjoyable, including everything from selecting flattering designer eyewear to handling insurance paperwork . Our Doctors
Malinda Pence, Optometrist
Doctor Pence is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Ohio Optometric Association & Cincinnati Optometric Association. Dr. Pence worked for many years in Cincinnati and is happy to continue over 55 years of Optometry practice at Madeira Optical. Prior to purchasing Madeira Optical, she practiced at a LASIK clinic in Kenwood providing pre-op and post-op care. Dr. Pence enjoys participating in the RealEyes classroom education program. Dr. Pence volunteers in the InfantSEE program where she provides wellness eye screening at no cost to children under one year old. Dr. Pence has participated medical missions to bring needed eye care to families in Cincinnati and several third world countries. Dr. Pence chose to be a private practice eye doctor so she could build strong ties to her community and patient base.
As the mother of a small child with vision correction, Dr. Pence can relate on a personal level to parents seeking pediatric eye care. Dr. Pence has had LASIK vision correction by a top surgeon in the Cincinnati area, so she can share her experience working in a LASIK center and having the procedure. Even though her procedure was a success, Dr. Pence, like some LASIK patients, also wears vision correction. She is both a contact lens and spectacle wearer. She enjoys playing tennis, cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and spending time with her family. Dr. Pence's practice blends her personal, professional and medical approach in a state-of-the-art facility. Doctor Pence lives in Madeira with her husband, son, daughter and border collie.
Jennifer Kritzer, Optometrist
Dr. Kritzer is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Ohio Optometric Association & Cincinnati Optometric Association. Doctor Kritzer has practiced eye care on the east side of Cincinnati for many years. In the 14 years previous to joining Madeira Optical, Dr. Kritzer practiced in a family oriented ophthalmology office in Kenwood, Ohio. Dr. Kritzer enjoys the relationships she has built with her patients and the opportunity to provide multi-generational eye care in a strong family practice setting.
When not practicing Optometry, Dr. Kritzer enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. She and her family also enjoy participating in local charities such as Habitat for Humanity and Operation Christmas Child. Dr. Kritzer is a member of Christ's Church in Mason and lives in Landen.
